Role Of a Graphic Designer

A Graphic Designer presents information which is both visually appealing to viewers and also comprehensible. He has various roles to play while producing a high quality graphic design with accuracy. Few of the roles of a Graphic Designer are listed below:

1. Must follow the brand guidelines and design different types of illustrations, web design layouts & typography.

2. Use creative skills to come up with visual solutions to the communication needs.

3. Multitask using a wide range of medias, including computer aided design and photography.

4. Must know how to make media presentations using different software. Must also possess knowledge of graphic animation, video editing, etc.

5. Produce high quality work with accuracy and also have knowledge of image building and image editing.

6. Must have knowledge of latest software in the visual arts industry. Also know about the key factors which can impact a design like computer packages, material costs and time limits.

7. Should be able to create expert designs and layouts for promotional materials including handouts, advertisements, direct mailings, posters, logos, and other visual layouts.

8. Keep the brand guidelines in mind while planning new and exceptional illustrations, innovative layout prints and rough sketches to come up with visually captivative graphic design.

9. Determine technique and medium that suits the organisation promotion strategies.

10. Must be able to assist in copywriting.

11. Conducts necessary research to keep in track of the current trends in graphic designing.

12. Should be aware of various printing techniques, types of paper or canvas (size, weight) and display options (light box, interactive display), cutting and finalizing prints for display.

13. Create & modify fonts according to brand guidelines.

14. Should be able to coordinates production activities with printers, service agencies, advertisers, and vendors and review quality of final product before release.
